Wrapping up our second partner meeting

Amsterdam 11-12 June 2024

We have concluded our second in-person partner meeting in the picturesque city of Amsterdam, generously hosted by Gemeente Amsterdam. The past few months have seen great progress from our dedicated partners on various work packages, contributing significantly to the development of the four critical frameworks that will form the T4R Joint Implementation Handbook.

Introducing the T4R Joint Implementation Handbook

This comprehensive handbook is designed to be an invaluable resource for both new and existing Local Digital Twins (LDTs). It offers essential tools and guidance on several fronts:

  • Technical Aspects: Cutting-edge solutions and best practices.
  • Training and Education: Resources to upskill and empower stakeholders and users.
  • Governance: Framework for effective management and decision-making.
  • Ethics, Inclusion, and Democratization: Ensuring fair and inclusive application.

The Versatility of Local Digital Twins

LDTs are incredibly versatile and can be applied in numerous use cases within territorial planning. For example: Flanders Environment Agency is exploring the use of an LDT to manage water overflows following heavy rainfall, while the City of Brussels will utilize an LDT to mitigate heat island effects.

Deep Dive Workshop: Aligning Goals and Strategies

During an intensive workshop, partners delved deeper into their specific objectives for their LDTs, aligning on goals and strategies to maximize the impact of our activities. We hosted insightful sessions in the council chamber at Stadsdeel Oost and explored the innovative possibilities of 3D Amsterdam at the marine's area innovation hub. A special highlight was having illustrator Mei-Li Nieuwland capture the essence of our discussions in a stunning visual drawing, bringing our ideas to life in a unique and engaging way.

Moving Forward

A big thank you to everyone who has contributed to our progress so far. Your hard work and dedication are paving the way for a more connected and innovative future. Let's keep the momentum going! 💪🌱

Stay tuned for more updates from the T4R Project. Together, we’re making great strides toward a brighter, smarter future.
